Background
CDL was founded in early 2003 by its current Managing Director Lucy Mmari.Within her 14 year tenure in a well established logistics company, She honed her skill in human resources management and thereafter started CDL.
Job Purpose
The HR Intern will provide support to the Human Resources department in daily operations,including employee record management, recruitment, payroll, performance appraisals, and office administration. This role is designed to give practical exposure to HR processes while contributing to organizational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
HR Support
- Assist in maintaining accurate employee records, ensuring confidentiality and timely updates on leave and attendance.
- Support payroll processing, employee onboarding, and offboarding .
- Provide recruitment support by screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and assisting in disciplinary hearings with proper documentation.
- Assist in performance appraisals by ensuring evaluations are completed on time and documentation is properly filed.
Office Administration & Supplies Management
- Ensure monthly shopping and stationery budget allocation is completed at the end of each month.
- Oversee daily supply of weekly breakfast and water refills within allocated budgets.
- Maintain adequate warehouse operational resources (GRNs, reflectors, receipt books,uniforms, dispatch books ,tapes).
Other Duties
- Perform any other duties assigned by the HR department or management.
- Administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Completed a degree/diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of HR practices and labor laws.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
