JOB PURPOSE
The HR Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic HR initiatives focused on talent acquisition, learning and development (L&D), and employee engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and Implement recruitment plans tailored to the needs of the organization
- Oversee onboarding programs, ensuring new hires are effectively integrated and licensed where applicable.
- Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning and development programs including security certifications, customer service, and supervisory training.
- Implement talent development plans, including succession planning and performance improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of employee licensing and certifications (e.g., PSRA compliance).
- Analyze HR metrics and provide monthly reports on staffing, training effectiveness, turnover, and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws and private security industry regulations.
- Manage internal employee communication on HR policy, benefits, and career development.
- Conduct Training Needs Assessments (TNA) across departments and coordinate periodic refresher courses.
- Manage the performance management cycle and coach managers on performance conversations.
- Champion employee recognition, wellness, and retention strategies.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- 100% completion of background checks and PSRA licensing for new hires.
- Fill 90% of approved roles within agreed timelines (TAT of <21 days).
- 100% completion of mandatory onboarding and induction for all new hires.
- At least 85% of staff trained annually with improved performance outcomes.
- Reduce annual staff turnover by 10% through retention initiatives.
- Submission of accurate monthly HR reports by the 5th working day4.1 Minimum Knowledge/Qualification requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Management, or related field Professional Qualification-Higher Diploma in HRM, CHRP-K, or equivalent Valid IHRM Certification-Desirable
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 7 years HR experience, with at least 3 in talent and L&D in a service-oriented or security-related organization
SKILLS (KEY SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)
- Recruitment & selection expertise
- Strong training design & facilitation skills
- Understanding of labour law and PSRA compliance
- Data-driven HR reporting and analytics
- Performance management system implementation
- Personal attributes required for the role
