Job Summary:
- Danco has been growing rapidly within Kenya, and in the wider region across East and Southern Africa. As such, the need to ensure we remain innovative continues to grow and therefore we are looking to fill this new position. The role will be responsible for analyzing supply chain operations and commercial performance, providing insights and data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance profitability. This role supports the supply chain by ensuring supply chain and trading activities align with commercial goals and customer demand.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Analytics:
- Analyse supply chain data (procurement, logistics, inventory, production planning) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Monitor key KPIs such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), inventory turnover, Stock outs, Import TAT, and freight cost efficiency.
- Support demand planning and S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes with accurate data modelling for accurate demand plans considering projects and seasonality aspects while adjusting accordingly where applicable.
- Commercial Analysis:
- Working closely with the Head of supply chain and head of Sales to evaluate pricing strategies based on price lists from suppliers, gross margin %, cost-to-serve, and profitability by product, customer, or region.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis of supply chain initiatives and trading decisions. Track import/export performance, landed cost analysis, and vendor performance. Inventory Management:
- Analyse historical data working closely with the inventory team and sales teams to establish and monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Implement inventory optimization strategies to balance cost and service levels. Production Planning:
- Work closely with Sales Admins, inventory teams and factory operations team to develop a data-based production planning approach to maintain production schedules that meet customer orders and minimize lead times.
- Supply Chain Coordination:
- Collaborate with IMPEX Team and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Identify potential supply chain disruptions and implement mitigation plans. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyse supply chain data to identify inefficiencies and propose process improvements. Prepare regular reports on key supply chain metrics, including forecast accuracy, lead times, and inventory turnover.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools. Provide monthly and quarterly performance reports to senior management.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies while proposing improvements on current ERP.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Liaise with Procurement, Finance, Sales, Operations and Logistics teams to align on forecasts.
- Provide insights during supplier negotiations, RFQs and customer contract evaluations based on data analysis.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A degree in Supply Chain, Finance or Statistics preferred with professional certification in supply Chain.
- At least 2 years of progressive work experience as a Logistics or Supply Chain Analyst in a busy trading, logistics or manufacturing company.
- Experience with ERP systems Syspro, SAP, Dynamics and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
