Neptune Healthcare Ltd is looking for enthusiastic Health Records & Information Technology graduates to join our team as Front Office / Reception Interns.
You will be the first point of contact for our patients – managing registration, insurance guidance and pre-authorizations, and patient check-in/check-out.
This is a hands-on internship offering real front-office and health records exposure, with potential to grow into a permanent role based on performance.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or Degree in Health Records & Information Technology (HRIT)
- Basic understanding of SHA and private insurance schemes.
- Computer literate, with working knowledge of HMIS and MS Office.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer care skills.
- Well organized, keen on detail and able to multitask at a busy front desk.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling patient information.
- Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure.
- A strong desire and WILLINGNESS TO LEARN and grow within a busy hospital front office.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
PATIENT REGISTRATION & INSURANCE
- Register new and returning patients accurately in the hospital system.
- Guide patients on applicable insurance schemes (SHA, corporate and private covers).
- Verify member eligibility, benefits and co-payment requirements.
- Prepare and send pre-authorization requests for insurance claims.
- Follow up on pending pre-authorizations and communicate status to patients and clinicians.
FRONT DESK / CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
- Welcome and check in patients, directing them to the appropriate clinic or service point.
- Manage patient queues and appointment scheduling.
- Process patient check-out, billing handover and discharge documentation.
- Maintain and safeguard patient files and health records, ensuring confidentiality.
- Handle telephone and walk-in enquiries professionally.
- Escalate complex queries to the relevant department promptly.
