Housing and Slum Transformation Researcher Consultant at UN-Habitat

RESPONSIBILITIES

The consultant will:

  • Draft and review housing and slum upgrading documents, publications and tools
  • Provide technical advice on affordable housing strategies, sustainable housing, and inclusive housing finance mechanisms and slum transformation interventions.
  • Contribute to the conceptualization and proposals development of housing and slums-related projects,
  • Draft guidelines, reports, case studies on affordable, adequate, and sustainable housing and slum transformation interventions.
  • Assist in drafting communications material and content for the housing platform, in collaboration with the communication team.

Qualifications/special skills

  • Advanced education degree in one of the following fields is required: housing studies, law, international development, urban planning, or related social sciences is required. Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification is desirable.
  • Relevant work experience in the above-mentioned fields can be accepted in lieu of a degree. PhD is desirable.
  • A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated working experience in research, data analysis, and report writing is required.
  • Experience in working on housing research is required. Experience in working with an international organisation with a housing mandate is desirable.
