Job Purpose

Little Flower Primary School is seeking a qualified, dedicated, and passionate Junior Secondary Teacher to join its teaching team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering effective instruction in Kiswahili and/or another relevant subject, supporting learners' academic development, and maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Kiswahili and other assigned subjects.
  • Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, teaching materials, assignments, and assessments.
  • Use learner-centred and interactive teaching approaches to support effective learning.
  • Assess learners through classwork, assignments, tests, projects, and examinations.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of learners' academic performance.
  • Identify learners who require additional support and provide appropriate remedial instruction.
  • Support learners in developing strong communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain good classroom discipline and create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Prepare learners adequately for relevant internal and external assessments.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to learners where required.
  • Participate in remedial lessons and other academic support programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and school administration.
  • Participate in staff meetings, school activities, examinations, and co-curricular programmes.
  • Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding learners' progress when required.
  • Uphold the school's policies, values, and professional teaching standards.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the school administration.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant teaching qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Specialization or strong competency in Kiswahili and/or another teachable subject.
  • Ability to teach at Junior Secondary level.
  • Relevant teaching experience will be an added advantage.
  • Good classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide effective remedial support to learners.
