Job Title: Machine Operator

Supervisor/Manager Title: On-site supervisor

Department: Operations

Grade: Operations

Positions reporting to this job:

  • None

Job Purpose

To set up, operate, and maintain machinery in a production environment.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Machine Setup and Operation:
    • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle.
    • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed).
    • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
  • Quality Control:
    • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
    • Test operation of machines periodically.
    • Fix issues that might occur during the shift.
    • Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintenance:
    • Perform regular maintenance to ensure machines are functioning correctly.
    • Clean and maintain equipment and work area.
    • Report any malfunctions or abnormalities to supervisors.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear).
    • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain activity logs.
    • Record production and operational data.
    • Any other duties assigned

Requirements

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is a must
  • 1-3 years’ similar experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to develop self & others
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Adaptability ease
