We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer with a strong bias in Marine Engineering to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance, and reliability of our marine vessels, aquaculture equipment, and associated mechanical systems. The successful candidate will apply engineering principles to design, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize mechanical components, contributing directly to our operational efficiency and sustainability goals.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Marine and Mechanical Systems Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational integrity of marine vessels (Speed boats, Barges, platforms) including propulsion systems, steering gear, auxiliary machinery, and deck equipment.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational integrity of mechanical items including but not limited to cranes, concrete mixers, rammers, compactors, dozers, TLBs, trucks and tractors.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all marine and mechanical assets to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Conduct regular inspections and performance assessments of marine engines, pumps, filtration systems, and other critical components.

Troubleshooting & Repair:

  • Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults in marine equipment, industrial machinery, and facility infrastructure.
  • Execute and supervise repair work, pump replacements, and system recalibrations, ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Source and specify appropriate spare parts and materials, managing inventory for critical components.

Design & Optimization:

  • Contribute to the design, modification, and improvement of mechanical systems for new and existing marine vessels and aquaculture infrastructure.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains in mechanical operations, proposing and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for new equipment installations or system upgrades.

Project Management & Compliance:

  • Lead or support engineering projects related to marine infrastructure development, equipment installation, and system upgrades, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Ensure all mechanical operations and installations comply with relevant marine safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including maintenance records, repair logs, and design specifications.

Team Collaboration & Safety:

  • Collaborate closely with operations teams, electrical engineers to resolve technical issues and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the engineering and operations teams, conducting risk assessments and ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians and operational staff on mechanical best practices.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in marine engineering or mechanical engineering roles with a marine focus.
  • Strong knowledge of marine propulsion systems, auxiliary equipment, and vessel mechanical infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with international maritime regulations, classification society standards, and safety protocols.
  • Proficient in CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in marine environments and adapt to diverse project requirements
