Position: Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer will provide technical and engineering support for construction projects, overseeing the planning, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, review, and supervise mechanical installations on construction projects.
  • Coordinate mechanical works with civil, electrical, architectural, and other project teams.
  • Supervise contractors and subcontractors undertaking mechanical works.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, material submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure mechanical works meet approved designs.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Identify and resolve technical and site-related challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and project standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and relevant project documentation.
  • Participate in site meetings and coordinate with consultants, clients, and contractors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registration with the relevant professional body in Kenya is an advantage/required where applicable.
  • Proven experience in construction projects is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical building services and construction processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
  • Willingness to work on construction sites as required.
