Medical Laboratory Technologist at Safal Group
Description
The role involves conducting diagnostic tests, analyzing laboratory results, and providing timely and accurate reports to support clinical decision-making and enhance patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic tests in hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, and immunology.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Accurately document and report test results in accordance with established protocols.
- Implement and comply with quality control measures and biosafety standards.
- Collaborate with clinicians to support effective diagnosis and treatment.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including reagents and consumables, to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Utilize Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and maintain accurate digital records.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum: Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology/Sciences from a recognized institution.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
- Valid registration with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) and an up-to-date practicing license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a busy clinical laboratory setting.
- Hands-on experience with automated diagnostic equipment and LIS
- Proficient knowledge of biosafety, infection control, and Kenyan healthcare regulations.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is an added advantage.
