Medical Laboratory Technologist at Safal Group

Description

The role involves conducting diagnostic tests, analyzing laboratory results, and providing timely and accurate reports to support clinical decision-making and enhance patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic tests in hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, and immunology.
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Accurately document and report test results in accordance with established protocols.
  • Implement and comply with quality control measures and biosafety standards.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to support effective diagnosis and treatment.
  • Manage laboratory inventory, including reagents and consumables, to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Utilize Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and maintain accurate digital records.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum: Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology/Sciences from a recognized institution.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
  • Valid registration with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) and an up-to-date practicing license.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a busy clinical laboratory setting.
  • Hands-on experience with automated diagnostic equipment and LIS
  • Proficient knowledge of biosafety, infection control, and Kenyan healthcare regulations.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is an added advantage.
