This is a Medical Specialist I position focusing on Radiology within the Machakos County Public Service Board (CPSB).
Responsibilities or duties
- Perform high-quality, complex medical imaging procedures (e.g., CT, MRI, mammography, or fluoroscopy).
- Prepare and position patients correctly, explain imaging procedures to alleviate anxiety, and monitor physical well-being throughout the scan.
- Calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot highly specialized radiographic equipment to ensure optimal image quality
- Strictly adhere to ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable) principles, utilizing lead shielding and monitoring dosages to protect patients and medical staff.
- Establish and maintain departmental Quality Assurance (QA) programs, routinely testing equipment to meet regulatory compliance standards.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB.) from an Institution recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
- Masters in Imaging and Radiology
- Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
- Certificate of Recognition from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
- Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
- SLDP lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution
- Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution
Experience needed
- At least nine (9) years of working experience
