Job Summary

The Nurse – Quality Assurance is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and improving the quality and safety of nursing and clinical care within the facility. The role ensures compliance with national health standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies, and drives continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Valid nursing license/registration.
• Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1–2 years in quality assurance, audit, or infection control.
• Training in quality improvement, patient safety, or IPC is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation processes.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and health information systems.
• Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
• High integrity, attention to detail, and confidentiality.

• Develop, implement, and review nursing quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards.
• Conduct regular clinical audits, chart reviews, and spot checks on nursing documentation and patient care.
• Monitor compliance with infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols.
• Track and analyze clinical indicators (e.g., medication errors, patient falls, pressure ulcers, hospital-acquired infections).
• Investigate incidents, adverse events, and complaints, and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate morbidity and mortality reviews, root cause analyses, and clinical audits.
• Train and mentor nursing staff on quality standards, patient safety, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with national health regulations, accreditation standards, and licensing requirements.
• Participate in accreditation readiness, inspections, and external audits.
• Prepare quality reports, dashboards, and presentations for management.
• Facilitate patient satisfaction surveys and act on feedback.
• Serve on quality improvement committees and lead CQI projects.
• Maintain confidential quality assurance records and databases.
