Job Summary:
The In-House Nurse plays a vital role in promoting and maintaining the health and safety of employees in our client's steel plant. This position is responsible for providing first aid, managing workplace injuries, conducting health screenings, supporting wellness programs, and ensuring compliance with occupational health regulations
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide immediate care and first aid for work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Assess and manage minor health complaints and refer serious conditions to external medical services.
- Maintain accurate medical and incident records in accordance with legal and company guidelines.
- Monitor employee health trends and collaborate with the safety team to reduce occupational hazards.
- Conduct routine health assessments, vision tests, and pre-employment medical screenings.
- Support return-to-work programs and monitor employees on modified duties.
- Develop and implement workplace wellness and health promotion programs.
- Educate employees on health, hygiene, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
- Maintain medical supplies and ensure the first aid station is fully equipped and compliant.
- Liaise with external healthcare providers and insurance representatives when necessary
Minimum Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current license. Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (preferred).
- First Aid and CPR certification (required).
- Previous experience in industrial or occupational health settings is required
Skills:
- Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Understanding of occupational health laws and workplace safety protocols.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
