Background
The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a leading research institution in Africa. We are seeking to recruit two Office & Research Admin Assistant Trainees to support our ongoing research activities. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in an administrative and research support role within a reputable organization.
Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for a range of administrative and research support tasks, including but not limited to:
- Assisting with the organization and management of research data.
- Providing administrative support to research teams, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence.
- Maintaining office records and filing systems.
- Assisting with the preparation of reports and presentations.
- Performing general office duties such as photocopying, scanning, and data entry.
- Supporting the logistics of research activities as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:
- A minimum of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent.
- A Diploma or Certificate in a relevant field such as Administration, Office Management, or a related discipline is an added advantage.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A keen interest in research and administrative support.
Experience
No prior work experience is required as this is a trainee position. However, relevant internships or volunteer experience will be considered an asset.
