About the role
WaterAid Kenya is seeking to recruit a Programme Officer - WASH Systems to join our team in Nairobi. The Programme Officer will be responsible for supporting the implementation of WaterAid’s WASH systems strengthening work in Kenya, focusing on strengthening the capacity of local government and other stakeholders to deliver sustainable WASH services.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of WaterAid’s WASH systems strengthening strategies and approaches in Kenya.
- Provide technical assistance and capacity building to local government authorities, water utilities, and other stakeholders on WASH systems strengthening.
- Contribute to the development of project proposals, work plans, and budgets.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of WASH systems strengthening interventions, ensuring timely reporting and learning.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and learning among stakeholders on WASH systems strengthening.
- Represent WaterAid in relevant forums and networks related to WASH systems strengthening.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Water and Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in WASH programming, with a focus on systems strengthening.
- Demonstrated understanding of WASH sector policies, strategies, and institutional frameworks in Kenya.
- Proven experience in capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and partnership management.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and report writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
