Job Summary

The Regional Manager is the head of the branch management team and as such s/he supervises the branches under a business territory ensuring achievement of business objectives specifically; profitability, customer experience, sales and digital channels uptake. 

The ideal candidate must have a good appreciation of the Enterprise Risk Framework.

Job Details

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • To develop and implement the Regional Strategic plans in line with the LUL objectives.
  • Develop annual year budgets in liaison with Branch managers.
  • Provide regional analytical data to the Head of Business and the relative to financial activities based on strategic and operational plans.
  • Plan and ensure adequate number of staff to fulfil strategic and operational objectives of the Branches under the region.
  • Plan and Monitor portfolio growth, quality and Outreach as per regional and branch targets.
  • Carry out administrative roles with regard to operational activities as per set administrative policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that staffs adhere to all LUL policies including Administration, Human resources, Accounting, Regional Office Operations, Lending and collection procedures as well as relevant policies stipulated in the strategic and operating plans.
  • Ensure proper management of both Regional and Branch assets. An up-to-date register MUST be maintained with a tracker of asset movement in all the Branches under the region. 
  • Make periodic branch monitoring visits to visually assess the branch operations.
  • Compile, analyze and provide weekly, monthly and quarterly regional performance reports to management as per regional reporting requirements.
  • Set targets and manage the performance of Branch managers. 
  • Conduct periodic formal and informal evaluations for the direct reports as per P&C - Manual and submit them to the Head of Sales, Channels and Marketing
  • Propose changes for management’s consideration on the incentive programs, staff welfare and development activities.
  • Identify training needs of the Regional staff and make recommendations for additional training sessions/seminars.
  • Ensure that all branches meet the collection target on a monthly basis as well as recovery of written off loans.
  • Ensure that all complaints for both internal and external customers from the region received and addressed.
  • Monitor collections in all the loan products and provide remedies to improve performance.
  • Monitor all branches in the Region to ensure they meet the target of collections
  • Follow-up with legal team on the foreclosure process to quickly realize cash after disposal.
  • Verify complaints and complements register.
  • Ascertain the percentage of resolved/escalated client’s inquiries and complaints, and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and retention through the use of standard customer care survey tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Commerce or Microfinance related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in a microfinance of which 4 years should have been in a managerial position
  • Excellent Leadership, Risk and Customer management skills,
