One of our clients, a startup water distribution business, is seeking to recruit a Sales and Marketing Executive to support her expansion and growth strategies.

SALES & MARKETING EXECUTIVE

JOB SUMMARY

The Sales & Marketing Executive will be responsible for achieving set sales and marketing targets and objectives. S/he will support the creation of brand visibility while managing customer relationships and driving customer retention. S/he will sell company products and ensure the organization is meeting customer needs while obtaining orders from existing and potential customers. S/he will also act as a brand ambassador, growing brand awareness and ensuring the brand is visible across Nairobi.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in brainstorming and implementation of new sales and marketing initiatives
  • Maintain an accurate and ongoing sales pipeline
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process to achieve set sales targets
  • Prospect for new business
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and contacts in existing and new customer accounts
  • Support in elevating the company’s brand visibility and ensure the marketing material used are well designed and are in accordance with the company standards
  • Attract new clients by innovating the sales process for the business
  • Work with internal team members and directors to identify and manage company risks that might prevent sales growth
  • Identify and research opportunities that come up in new and existing markets
  • Prepare and deliver pitches and presentations to potential new customers
  • Communicate with customers to understand their needs and offer solutions to match these needs as available
  • Create positive, long-lasting relationships with current and potential customers
  • Continuously research new business opportunities and find new customers
  • Quickly establish solid relationships with directors and other staff and ensure internal synergy by adhering to set service level agreements (SLAs) while monitoring costs, quality and timelines
  • Provide regular reporting on the performance of your work area daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually and as may be required
  • Drive operational efficiency through management of assigned budgets and ensure cost-containment practices are in place
  • Any other duties as required by your line manager.

EDUCATION SKILLS & COMPETENCIES DESIRED

  • A Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, Customer Service or any other related field from a recognized institution of learning
  • At least two (2) years of working experience as a sales and marketing executive in a retail or wholesale setup, including supermarkets and/or similar businesses in water distribution.
  • Proven ability to meet sales targets
  • Must have good understanding of mass markets to drive a growing business
  • Strong marketing and social media management background
  • Assertive ability to troubleshoot and manage difficult situations
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of the water distribution market
  • A skilled negotiator who understands the importance of communicating both good and difficult news to retailer partners expeditiously in order to capitalize on time and opportunity and create success out of both situations
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
  • A driving license is an added advantage.
