Roles and Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Security Operations Associate (Training) will conduct training and exercise programs for staff from various units on a broad range of security topics. The Security Operations Associate (Training) will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of Corporate Security’s learning strategy, including the development of Unit staff and the delivery of core curriculum for all WBG staff, improving the quality and relevance of technical and professional learning with a linkage to individual career paths, ensuring that learning is accessible regardless of their geographic location.
- The Security Operations Associate (Training) will remain informed of various knowledge management practices through the WBG to inform Unit staff and external clients of the resources and systems available and support a variety of deliveries. Located in Nairobi, Kenya, this position will support deliveries and other key training initiatives as required, predominantly in Africa. There is also an opportunity for international travel.
- Strategic Training and Awareness
- Would you like to prepare individual World Bank Group staff for traveling around the globe and provide them with critical tools to stay safe regardless of where they are? We are looking for someone to ensure the readiness of World Bank Group staff to handle different incidents by providing such staff with the tools necessary to prepare for any number of events, respond to various events, and recover from them. Specific results include:
- Coordinate, research, and employ appropriate methodologies in training and communications to execute training programs that contribute to GCSSC Training Team’s overall security awareness outreach to staff and management.
- Support the development of new products, deliver routine and complex training products, and address needs identified by partners and other Training Team members.
- Work alongside other trainers to support the delivery of multiple programs and the scheduling thereof.
- Support the organization and delivery of training modules as and when required.
- Collaborate with Training Team members to identify areas for improvement and expansion of all GCSSC learning and training programs; coordinate events related to GCSSC for internal and external audiences (courses, workshops, safety awareness BBL, conferences, and specialized events).
- Update and maintain Corporate Security Learning Resources.
- Support the efficiency, quality, and responsiveness of learning programs and activities by analyzing current activities, monitoring their use, and measuring their impact. Recommend the incorporation of evaluation results from surveys to improve learning activities.
- Collaborate with GCSSC and other WBG internal and external partners, and sponsors to deliver learning activities.
- Support logistics related to GCSSC Staff Development and Training Team activities, including events, trainings, publications, and reports.
- Assist in the learning development, design, marketing, implementation, and evaluation, including the use of technology.
- Support the development of marketing and promotion training materials (videos, posters, internal social media updates; etc.).
- As instructed, assist in creating and maintaining the Corporate Security OLC catalog and course entries.
- Provide regular updates to the unit on the status and capability of the program, highlighting issues and achievements.
- Report directly to the Senior Security Specialist (Strategic Training and Preparedness).
Selection Criteria
- Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience in Knowledge Management Development, Learning Development, Instructional Design, International Relations, Political Science, National Security Studies or related field. A bachelor’s degree in combination with 4 years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the master’s degree.
- Demonstrated experience with training portfolio through effective planning, directing, organizing and coordination. Experience with design, organization, and implementation of knowledge sharing, learning activities and learning plans.
- Proficiency with common office computer programs.
- Oral and written fluency in English is required.
- Proficiency in French is strongly preferred.
