Background

The Micro and Small Enterprise Authority (MSEA) is a state corporation established under the Micro and Small Enterprise Act No. 55 of 2012. The Act was developed through a stakeholder’s consultation process which took several years. The Authority is now domiciled in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Co-operatives

Job specification

Duties and responsibilities will entail:

  • Implementing policies, projects and programmes in relation to Micro and Small Enterprise
  • Marketing Authority programmes
  • Writing proposals for funding
  • Implementing programmes and projects
  • Providing business counselling
  • Evaluating training programmes/exhibition events
  • Liaising with stakeholders on program implementation
  • Compiling training /exhibition reports
  • Coordinating regional events and programmes
  • Preparing periodic and quarterly reports
  • Disseminating information on access to finance by MSEs
  • Evaluating the implementation of projects and program relating to or affecting MSEs

Person specifications

For appointment to this position, a candidate must have:-

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Administration, Strategic Management, Agri-Business, Marketing, Commerce, Enterprise Development, Human Resource Management/Development Arts and design or any other social sciences from a recognized institution
  • Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks is an added advantage
  • A minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in computer application
  • Shown merit and ability as is reflected in work performance and results.
