Site Architect
Responsibilities:
Landscape & Hardscape Execution:
- Oversee and ensure proper implementation of landscape and hardscape elements as per design drawings and specifications.
- Ensure proper execution of hardscape details, including pavement finishes, sublayers, joints, edging, and planter sublayer components.
- Supervise and verify the correct tree settings and planter sublayer placement.
- Ensure proper irrigation system installation and integration with landscape elements.
- Oversee and validate the installation of children’s play areas, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Technical Supervision & Coordination:
- Coordinate with construction teams to implement designs correctly and resolve on-site design modifications.
- Ensure the correct placement and construction of elements such as pergola footings, paving edges, and other structural elements affecting the landscape.
- Collaborate with the design team to address and adapt any necessary changes in the field.
- Verify proper drainage implementation to prevent water accumulation or improper water flow.
- Ensure correct slope setting in all paved and landscaped areas to ensure optimal usability and water runoff.
- Oversee and guide the execution of water features, ensuring correct slopes, equipment placement, and finishing quality.
Quality Control & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, construction codes, and best practices in landscape architecture.
- Conduct quality control inspections to confirm that the materials and construction techniques meet project standards.
- Ensure all landscape and hardscape works are executed as per approved plans and specifications.
- Monitor and report any deviations, issues, or non-compliance on-site.
Communication & Reporting:
- Act as the primary liaison between the design team and construction site personnel.
- Provide regular progress updates to management and design teams.
- Prepare site reports documenting construction progress, design deviations, and technical resolutions.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or Civil Engineering with Landscape experience
- 7+ years of experience in landscape and hardscape construction. Experience working on plazas, public spaces. Etc.
- Strong knowledge of hardscape details, pavement finishes, sublayers, drainage systems, irrigation, and planting techniques.
- Experience in resolving on-site technical issues and coordinating with construction teams.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and industry best practices.
- Strong understanding of children’s play area construction and safety standards.
- Experience with water feature construction, including slopes, drainage, and equipment placement.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to project changes effectively.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate between multiple teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design and drafting software is an advantage.
