Our client is seeking a Social Media Manager Associate to support the planning, execution, and day-to-day management of digital content across various social media platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a consistent and engaging brand presence online, monitoring interactions with the audience, and providing meaningful support to the marketing and creative teams. This role is best suited for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy individual who thrives in a fast-paced digital environment and has a genuine interest in brand storytelling and online engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Content Scheduling & Publishing:
- Manage the daily posting of approved content across all brand social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X), using tools like Meta Business Suite, Later, or Buffer.
Content Calendar Management:
- Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar in coordination with marketing campaigns, product launches, seasonal events, and promotions to ensure timely and aligned communication.
Community Engagement:
- Actively monitor, respond to, and engage with followers’ comments, messages, mentions, and tags across all platforms, in a tone that aligns with the brand’s identity.
Trend Research & Insights:
- Conduct ongoing research on digital trends, platform algorithm updates, emerging hashtags, and relevant conversations to identify engagement opportunities.
Performance Tracking & Reporting:
- Track key performance metrics (engagement, reach, impressions, follower growth, saves, shares, etc.) and compile weekly reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
Collaboration with Creative Teams:
- Liaise with graphic designers, videographers, and content creators to ensure that all visual and written content is brand-aligned, optimized for each platform, and ready for publishing.
- Caption Writing & Proofing: Write, edit, and proofread captions to ensure they are grammatically correct, compelling, and consistent with the brand tone and style guide.
- Customer Feedback Escalation: Identify and escalate online customer concerns, complaints, or inquiries to the appropriate internal departments for swift resolution, ensuring proper tracking and closure.
- Campaign Execution Support: Provide logistical and administrative support in the execution of digital marketing campaigns, influencer collaborations, giveaways, and sponsored promotions.
- Asset Management: -Maintain an organized archive of all digital content including approved visuals, videos, user-generated content, and campaign assets for easy access and reference.
- Platform Optimization:- Ensure all posted content adheres to platform-specific requirements including video ratios, caption length, thumbnail placement, hashtags, and tagging for maximum visibility.
- Quality Assurance:-Conduct regular reviews of live content and competitor pages to ensure quality standards are maintained and that the brand remains relevant and competitive.
- Cross-Functional Communication:- Work closely with the marketing, customer service, and product teams to stay informed of business priorities and ensure social media communication is aligned with overall objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Media Studies, Public Relations, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in social media coordination, digital marketing, or content support.
- Strong command of platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn.
- Proficient in tools such as Meta Business Suite, Canva, CapCut, InShot, or similar design and editing software.
- Excellent writing and grammar skills in English (fluency in Kiswahili is an added advantage).
- Knowledge of digital culture, trends, hashtags, and audience behaviors.
- Comfortable interpreting analytics and performance metrics to inform digital strategy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Certifications in digital marketing or social media (e.g., Facebook Blueprint, Hootsuite, Google Digital Garage) are an added advantage.
