Under the general direction and guidance of the Director of Maintenance, the CAMO Manager- Systems and Reliability provides leadership in systems engineering, ensuring optimum aircraft system reliability for Jambojet's fleet. The role drives continuous improvement initiatives based on data-driven insights, best practices, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the aircraft systems, including propulsion (Engine, APU & Propeller), operate at optimal conditions, adhering to safety standards set by authorities and Jambojet, while meeting all regulatory requirements through the processing of engineering orders.
  • Regularly review and evaluate system reliability data to identify trends and anticipate potential issues. Based on this analysis, recommend preventive actions and adjust maintenance programs, thereby ensuring optimized product reliability and cost-effectiveness for Jambojet operations.
  • Implement internal procedures and systems support tools to enhance efficiency and align with best practices. Drive data-driven initiatives to improve aircraft reliability, reduce downtime, and refine maintenance procedures, ensuring processes result in optimized maintenance, reduced ground times, and world-class cabin and external appearance standards.
  • Ensure all department activities and system reliability measures adhere to both local and international aviation regulations, including KCAA standards, while maintaining high technical, safety, and reliability standards.
  • Cultivate robust partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), aircraft/engine manufacturers, MRO service providers, and engine leasing companies and other vendors.
  • Approve repair schemes and deviations to ensure safe operations. Provide troubleshooting support to production areas and manage repetitive propulsion defects.
  • Manage engine, APU, and propeller requirements, ensuring optimal operations and minimal financial exposure. Develop engine stagger programs, removal plans, and maintenance programs. Define shop visit work scopes and scrutinize invoices against contracts.
  • Plan and organize medium to long-term maintenance strategies focusing on life cycle cost management. Participate in specifying activities for aircraft, engines, and components.
  • Develop manpower and capital budgets aligning with business needs. Provide monthly cost projections for propulsion equipment.
  • Work closely with other departments, particularly operations and maintenance, to ensure cohesive approaches to aircraft system and reliability matters.
  • Provide regular reports on system performance, reliability metrics, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage team members to foster a cohesive team and achieve objectives.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of aircraft systems, reliability methodologies, and analytical tools.
  • Management Skills: Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams, project management, and strategic planning.
  • Human Relations Skills: Strong interpersonal capabilities for both internal coordination and external partnerships.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with aviation regulatory frameworks, particularly KCAA standards, and specific expertise in the systems of the Jambojet fleet.

Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications. Membership to professional bodies is an added advantage.
