Key Responsibilities
Fleet & Operations Management
- Coordinate all vehicle movements for removals, funerals, transfers, repatriations, errands, and branch support.
- Ensure all vehicles are dispatched on time and return within expected timelines.
- Monitor daily transport schedules, prioritising urgent calls, hospital removals, airport pickups, and inter-county transfers.
- Ensure all vehicles are clean, fuelled, serviced, and mechanically sound before use.
- Maintain updated vehicle movement logs, fuel usage records, and mileage reports.
Driver Supervision & Discipline
- Supervise and manage both day and night-shift drivers, ensuring adherence to duty rosters.
- Enforce company policies regarding fuel use, speed limits, route adherence, personal use of vehicles, and client handling.
- Conduct regular briefings and trainings for drivers on customer service, safety, and operational standards.
- Address misconduct, lateness, absenteeism, or policy violations and escalate to HR when necessary.
Compliance, Safety & Maintenance
- Ensure vehicles meet legal requirements (insurance, inspection, licensing).
- Coordinate with mechanics/garage on repairs, servicing schedules, tyre changes, and emergency breakdowns.
- Conduct spot checks on logbooks, speed, fuel consumption, and GPS movement where available.
- Ensure accident reporting procedures are followed and assist in investigations.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on transport operations, fuel consumption, driver performance, and vehicle condition.
- Maintain accurate records of funeral allocations, removals, client feedback related to transport, and route logs.
- Update management on risks, delays, shortages, or operational gaps within the department.
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Kenyan driving license (Class B preferred).
- Diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in fleet management or transport supervision.
- Valid Driving License BCE with clean driving record is an added advantage.
- Experience managing drivers, especially in fast-paced or sensitive environments.
- Strong understanding of Kenyan roads, routes, counties, and airport logistics.
