Reporting to the ICT Manager, the Systems Administrator-Healthcare Systems must be a self-driven person who will be responsible for ensuring high availability, security and performance of insurance healthcare systems and health benefits administration platforms. The role supports mission-critical applications, ensuring seamless integration between systems, timely issue resolution and system scalability to support healthcare operations and digital transformation.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain healthcare and insurance-related systems including claims management, member portals, benefit management and provider management systems.
  • Monitor system uptime, availability, and performance and proactively address system alerts and issues.
  • Leading the support of healthcare business systems including solutions enhancement and support issues related to the business units.
  • Ensuring alignment of the Healthcare systems towards the company strategy such as greater reach, industry competitiveness and overall profitability through innovation.
  • Managing integrations across various platforms and Healthcare insurance systems: Including analytics platforms, financial systems and communication systems (SMS and Email).
  • Project Management, ensuring delivery of projects and initiatives within time, budget and resource constraints.
  • Identify and execute ICT-based solutions for enhancing efficiencies across different healthcare processes
  • Liaise with system vendors to resolve escalated incidents and deliver change requests. The Systems Administrator will also monitor system vendor SLAs and escalate unresolved issues for management attention.
  • Participate in system upgrades and new implementation projects
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards while at the same time adhering to the Company’s Policies, Processes and Procedures with respect to systems support and IT Service Management.
  • Contribute to the company’s knowledge and expertise with respect to IT service management
  • Perform any other administrative tasks that may be assigned by the Group ICT Manager or Management that relate to the assigned systems.

Key Competencies Required

  • Technical skills to effectively perform or guide the performance or support operations and quality controls in a manner that consistently produces high-quality service.
  • Understanding of health insurance processes i.e. pre-authorization, claims adjudication, capitation and provider management.
  • Demonstrable track record in system analysis, relational database design skills and IT Support Operations functions.
  • Strong awareness of IT security practices and data protection in healthcare
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills

Requisite Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, health informatics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience with 2 years in a software development and/or IT systems support role within a large highly digitized organization managing mission-critical systems.
  • Demonstrable track record in system analysis, software development, relational database design skills and IT Support functions
  • Good understanding of the BFSI Industry (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) and how Information Technology contributes to the success of financial institutions. Experience with health insurance platforms is highly desirable
  • Professional certifications: Microsoft Azure Administrator, ITIL Foundation, CompTIA Server+, or equivalent.
  • Strong database skills (SQL Server, MySQL) and understanding of API standards in healthcare.
  • ITIL Service Level Management certification is an added advantage.
