Requirements for Appointment:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a degree in Social Sciences with a Postgraduate Diploma in any of the following: Mass Communication, Communication Studies, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations, or an equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili
- Demonstrate proficiency in information communication technology, including use of internet and intranet services
- Show merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
Duties and Responsibilities: -
- Gather information on programmes and significant events, edit stories on topical issues in a specific sectoral area;
- Develop public and media relations campaign strategies;
- Collaborate with internal teams and maintain open communication with the management;
- Edit and update promotional material and publications (brochures, videos, social media posts etc.);
- Prepare and distribute press releases;
- Organize events and activities;
- Track media coverage and follow news and information trends;
- Prepare and submit monthly reports; and
- Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets.
