Job summary

We are looking for a self-driven and passionate individual to step into the role of Accounting Officer III-Credit Control.

AutoXpress is the leading vendor of auto parts and accessories in East Africa with a network of over 89 branches across Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. It represents some of the best-known global brands in the automotive sector, ranging from Bridgestone and Dunlop in the tyre sector to Bosch, KYB, NGK and Turtle Wax in the service parts and accessories sector.

THE ROLE

This position is instrumental in the proper functioning of the credit control section of the finance department and providing support to various functions within the Finance department.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Processing of credit applications, credit enhancement forms and related supporting documents.
  • Ensure all customer receipts including withholding vat certificates received are posted to the correct accounts.
  • Ensure reconciliations of receipts to invoices are done correctly and regularly.
  • Addressing and responding to any debtor related queries.
  • Follow up on overdue debts in liaison with sales representatives.
  • Periodic review of new customer accounts created to ensure accuracy of data and correct classification of customers.
  • Generating and compiling of various reports required by management related to credit control.
  • Periodic review of any unutilized credit balances in the customer accounts.
  • Assist in budget preparation.
  • Ensure document management and archiving of both physical and soft documents / records.
  • Any other duties as may be specified from time to time falling within the scope of the finance team as a whole.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • ACCA / CPA or an equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience
  • Strong reconciliation and controls review skills
  • Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA will be an added advantage
