About the Role

iRES is seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI Data Analytics MEL Specialist to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. This role will be instrumental in leveraging data analytics and AI to enhance our Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, AI, and MEL frameworks, with a passion for driving evidence-based decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement AI-enabled digital platforms and business intelligence solutions.
• Design monitoring and evaluation frameworks, dashboards, and performance reporting systems.
• Apply data analytics and visualization techniques to support evidence-based decision-making.
• Develop learner analytics, competency assessment models, and decision support systems.
• Support institutional MEL capacity building and performance measurement.

Qualifications and Experiences:

• Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Monitoring & Evaluation, or a related discipline.
• Microsoft AI Engineer, Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer, PMD Pro, or equivalent professional certification.
• At least 8 years of experience in AI-enabled digital platforms, business intelligence, analytics, and data visualization.
• Experience developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, dashboards, and performance reporting systems.
• Experience in learner analytics, competency assessment, and evidence-based decision support systems will be an added advantage.

Applicants should demonstrate:

• Experience delivering complex ICT or digital transformation assignments.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills.
• Experience working with government agencies, financial institutions, higher education institutions, or development partners.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working in Eastern Africa or similar regional contexts is desirable

• Developing and implementing AI-powered data analytics solutions for MEL.
• Designing and managing data collection, analysis, and reporting systems.
• Utilizing machine learning algorithms and statistical models to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data.
• Creating compelling data visualizations and reports for various stakeholders.
• Providing technical assistance and training on data analytics and MEL tools.
• Contributing to the development and refinement of MEL frameworks and strategies.
• Staying abreast of the latest advancements in AI, data analytics, and MEL.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• A Master's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Proven experience in data analytics, with a strong focus on AI and machine learning techniques.
• Solid understanding of MEL principles and frameworks.
• Experience working in a development or humanitarian context is an advantage.
