Job summary

To provide administrative assistance in the repair and maintenance of the avionics of the AIM AIR aircraft, in addition to equipment brought to Radio Base for repair in a timely manner while ensuring good workmanship.

Nature of Work: Administrative

Reports to: Avionics Manager

Job Location: Wilson Airport, Nairobi, KE

Supervises: None

KEY RESULT AREAS (Highlighted in bold)

NB – Under each key result area, the duty is indicated

1. Maintaining AIM AIR Avionics Inventory

  • Ensure the ongoing accuracy of the Radio Base inventory
  • Assist in Radio Base inventory and Stores planning and other Stores operations, such as regular stock take.
  • Track Purchase and Sale Orders from order to receiving and closure.

2. General Administration of Avionics Processes and Procedures

  • Ensure training is tracked and completed.
  • Monitor and ensure equipment is tracked and remains in calibration
  • Maintain the avionics calendar and ensure incoming work is approved and scheduled.
  • Ensure proper opening and closing of work orders including sign-out of parts and tools.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the Avionics Department office.

3. Financial Administration

  • Track incoming and outgoing transactions within the avionics department.
  • Any other Duty assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications/Experience & Communication Demands

Qualification:

Essential

  • Diploma in Business Administration/Management or equivalent
  • Valid certificate of good conduct
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite

Preferred/Desired

  • Ability to learn Basic aircraft maintenance programs and Maintenance procedure manuals
  • Competent in Excel
  • Ability to learn new software programs
  • Be able to type at least 50 words per minute
  • Experience in office support/record keeping

Experience:

Essential

  • Computer literate
  • Minimum 1-year work experience in an administrative position preferably in aviation setting

Preferred/Desired

  • Minimum of 2 years’ office administration in a professional setting in the aviation industry.

Communication Skills:

Essential

  • Professional written and verbal communication in English, including technical documentation.
