Requirements for Appointment:

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • a Bachelors degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Business Administration (Accounting or Finance option) or equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya; and
  • a pass in Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

Note: Proficiency in accounting packages will be considered as an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • implementing accounting policies and procedures;
  • compiling and posting financial transactions in accounting software;
  • preparing payment vouchers and verifying supporting documents;
  • filing financial records and maintaining accounting documentation;
  • reconciling bank and cash balances;
  • preparing statutory returns and payroll documentation;
  • keeping safe custody of accountable documents and records; and
  • supporting audits by retrieving and organizing required audit documents.
