Accountant – Events Management Sector

Location: Nairobi

Employment Type: Full Time

Role Overview

Our client, a fast-paced events management company, is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations, event cost tracking, and basic compliance reporting. This role suits someone comfortable working in a dynamic service environment with flexible schedules aligned to event timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounts receivable, including recording and posting invoices
  • Support event budgeting, cost tracking, and post-event cost analysis
  • Manage petty cash processing, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Assist in preparation of basic financial reports
  • Support tax compliance and statutory filings
  • Assist during audits by preparing schedules and required documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA qualification is a strong advantage
  • Experience in the service sector (events, hospitality, hotels, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience managing petty cash
  • Basic working knowledge of Sage Accounting System
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Flexible availability, including off-peak hours when required by event schedules

  • Prior experience supporting event-based costing and reconciliations
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure during peak event periods
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
