Tranquil Med Centre is a private level four mental institution situated along Lang’ata North Road, Gituro Lane, Gate 10 in Nairobi, Kenya. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process and verify supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper authorization, and compliance with hospital policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payables records and schedules.
  • Prepare payment vouchers and process payments through bank transfers, cheques, and other approved methods.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and promptly resolve discrepancies.
  • Liaise with procurement, stores, and user departments to confirm receipt of goods and services.
  • Ensure statutory deductions (e.g., withholding tax, VAT where applicable) are correctly applied and remitted.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of AP reports.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in handling financial and patient-related information.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Good understanding of Kenyan tax and financial regulations.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA (K) or ACCA Finalist
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounts receivable, preferably within a healthcare or hospital environment.
  • Prior experience in a hospital, mental health facility, or healthcare setting is highly desirable
