Qualifications or requirements

You are an early-career communications professional with a passion for conservation, public policy, and sustainable development in Africa. You enjoy transforming complex information into clear, compelling messages and are eager to contribute to advocacy campaigns that influence key audiences. You bring strong writing and research skills, thrive in collaborative and multicultural environments, and are motivated by opportunities to learn, grow, and support meaningful change through strategic communications.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (completed) in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Policy Studies, International Relations, or a related field, with at least six months of relevant experience gained through internships, coursework, or project-based work.

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Familiarity with visual storytelling and/or design best practices.

Ability to work collaboratively within multicultural and diverse teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in English.

Experience, coursework, or training in communications, advocacy, public policy, or related fields.

Commitment to and demonstration of The Nature Conservancy’s core values.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, International Relations, Public Policy, Development Studies, Environmental Policy, Political Science, or a related field.

Recent graduate who is not currently enrolled in school or college.

Experience developing communications products such as factsheets, messaging frameworks, briefs, or media materials.

Demonstrated interest or experience in advocacy, public policy, or strategic communications.

Multilingual skills and cross-cultural experience.

Graphic design and multimedia skills.

Experience working collaboratively in partnerships
