About This Position
The Africa Administrative Coordinator is an all‑rounded role that ensures the smooth day‑to‑day functioning of the Laudato Si’ Movement Africa team. This position serves as the first point of contact for movement inquiries in the region and provides critical administrative, financial coordination, and operational support. The Officer works closely with LSM’s central administrative teams, as well as external service providers, to ensure strong systems, compliance, and value for money. This role is essential to enabling programmatic and advocacy staff to focus on mission impact while ensuring the Africa team operates efficiently, transparently, and in alignment with LSM policies and values.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Operations & Coordination
- Support the implementation of the Africa programme by translating strategic priorities into coordinated plans, calendars, and timelines.
- Maintain organized programme and operational systems, including calendars, compliance checklists, contracts, and digital and physical filing systems.
- Track programme activities, deadlines, and action points, following up with team members to ensure timely delivery and accountability.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of programme and operational systems and processes to support a dynamic and growing regional movement.
Movement Liaison & Internal Coordination
- Act as the first point of contact for general inquiries related to the Laudato Si’ Movement Africa programme, ensuring timely, professional, and values‑aligned responses.
- Liaise with animators, youth groups, partners, and other movement actors to support smooth communication, coordination, and follow‑through.
- Facilitate internal communication within the Africa team, ensuring alignment across advocacy, programmes, communications, and organising efforts.
- Occasionally facilitate and rapporteur meetings, capturing key decisions, learning, and next steps to support programme continuity.
Operations, Administration & Finance Coordination.
- Liaise closely with LSM’s central administrative and finance teams to support planning, reporting, and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
- Support procurement processes, including sourcing vendors, obtaining quotations, and ensuring value‑for‑money and documentation compliance.
- Manage day‑to‑day office operations.
- Maintain and manage relationships with vendors and service providers, including consultants, suppliers, and travel or logistics partners.
Logistics & Convening Support
- Provide logistical and administrative support for meetings, retreats, trainings, and regional or international travel, including bookings, documentation, and reimbursements.
- Support the planning and coordination of convenings, trainings, and organising moments that strengthen the Africa programme and movement.

- Endorses and embodies LSM values and the Laudato Si’ paradigm in behavior and words; comfortable supporting and working in a faith-based environment.
- Strong programme coordination, organizational, and operational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience in programme support, operations, administration, or coordination, preferably within a non‑profit, faith‑based, or international organization.
- Ability to work relationally across teams and with diverse movement actors, balancing responsiveness with structure and follow‑through.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to transparency and accountability.
- Proficiency in digital collaboration and organizational tools (e.g., Google Workspace, spreadsheets, calendars, and online communication platforms).
Desirable
- Experience working with faith-based, regional, or international networks, particularly in Africa.
- Experience supporting organising, community engagement, or movement‑building initiatives.
Languages
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
- Knowledge of French, Portuguese, or other African languages is an advantage.
