Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Agronomist – Animal Feeds Production to support efficient feed
formulation, raw material sourcing, quality control, and continuous improvement of animal feed production
processes. The role will work closely with production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure cost-effective,
high-quality feeds that meet nutritional, regulatory, and market requirements.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in animal feed formulation and production, ensuring optimal nutritional value
    for different livestock categories.
  • Support the development, review, and optimization of feed formulations based on raw material
    availability, cost, and nutritional requirements.
  • Monitor feed production processes to ensure consistency, efficiency, and adherence to approved
    formulations.
  • Conduct feed trials and evaluations to assess performance and feed conversion ratios.
  • Analyze production data and recommend improvements to enhance feed efficiency and reduce
    production losses.
  • Support sourcing, evaluation, and approval of raw materials used in feed production.
  • Carry out quality checks on incoming raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with
    company and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure consistent supply of quality raw materials.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining quality control procedures and standard operating procedures
    (SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan agricultural, environmental, and food safety regulations, including
    standards set by KEBS and other relevant authorities.
  • Support audits, inspections, and certification processes related to feed production and quality assurance.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Provide technical support on animal nutrition and feed management to internal teams and, where
    applicable, customers or farmers.
  • Train production staff on feed handling, quality standards, and best practices.
  • Work closely with management to support product development and market needs
  • Prepare and submit technical reports, production summaries, and quality assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records on formulations, trials, raw material usage, and quality results.
    Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Agriculture, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in animal feeds production, feed formulation, agribusiness, or a similar
    role.
  • Practical knowledge of animal nutrition, feed formulation, and feed manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with feed raw materials commonly used in Kenya.
  • Knowledge of relevant Kenyan regulatory and quality standards is an added advantage.
    Skills and Competence:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical data and translate it into practical recommendations.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Excel, Word, reporting tools).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    Personal Attributes:
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Results-oriented and proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
