Alumni Liaison & Partnerships Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

You will manage alumni relations and leverage alumni networks to support student mentorship, internships/attachments, career opportunities, and institutional partnerships through structured engagement, communication, and opportunity sourcing.

Scope of the role:

  • Opportunities and Partnerships for job placement
  • Events and communication
  • Alumni Tracking, Relations & Engagement
  • Records and Reporting

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously update a comprehensive alumni database (contacts, employment status, sector, location, engagement history).
  • Build and implement an alumni engagement plan that supports mentorship, career talks, guest lectures, and student opportunity pipelines.
  • Mobilize alumni to share internship/attachment and job opportunities; maintain a structured process for receiving and validating alumni referrals.
  • Coordinate alumni events and engagement activities including networking sessions, career forums, and alumni recognition initiatives (in collaboration with the career services team).
  • Strengthen alumni involvement in institutional development initiatives (industry linkages, sponsorships, advisory support, curriculum feedback, brand advocacy).
  • Act as a functional link between alumni, students, and industry partners to enable mentoring matches, referrals, and collaboration.
  • Prepare alumni engagement reports, success stories, and impact summaries for internal communication and management reporting.
  • Manage alumni communication channels and cadence (e.g., newsletters, platforms, alumni groups) to maintain consistent engagement.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by Management from time to time.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree International Relations, Public Relations, Business management, Marketing or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years’ experience at an Institution of Higher learning
  • Demonstrate continuing professional development
  • A deep understanding of, commitment to and involvement in hospitality Industry
  • Extensive knowledge in ICT and experience of education, higher Education and the issues and challenges facing the sector.

Key Competencies

  • Stakeholder engagement and partnership governance
  • Networking, community and relationship engagement
  • Event planning and coordination
  • Effective verbal and written communication, including report writing
  • Alumni records, data management, quality assurance, and reporting
  • ICT proficiency (MS Office, databases, email, and virtual platforms)
  • Time management, multitasking and teamwork
