Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Architectural Technologist based in Nairobi County, Kenya. As a design and build company, we deliver projects end-to-end — from concept through to construction — and we’re looking for someone who thrives in that integrated environment. The role involves preparing technical drawings, creating working drawings, and developing detailed architectural and construction drawings. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with architects, designers, and project managers to ensure accurate design implementation. The role also requires regular site presence — coordinating with site personnel, liaising with suppliers, and resolving on-site technical queries to keep projects moving. Responsibilities include ensuring that projects comply with building regulations and are optimized for functionality and sustainability.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in an architectural technology or similar role, preferably within a design and build environment
Genuine passion for the construction industry and a drive to see projects through from drawing board to completion
Proficiency in Architectural Technology and Technical Drawing
Strong skills in creating accurate Working Drawings and Architectural Drawings
Experience in preparing detailed Construction Drawings
Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant architectural design tools
Understanding of building codes, materials, and construction methods
Comfortable working on active construction sites and engaging directly with site personnel, contractors, and tradespeople
Experience liaising with suppliers — sourcing materials, obtaining quotations, verifying specifications, and coordinating deliveries
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Architectural Technology or a related field
Experience in the design-build construction methodology is an advantage
Familiarity with sustainable building practices is a plus
