The job holder will be responsible for managing all sales activities within the assigned geographical area. This includes developing and executing sales strategies, expanding market presence, and ensuring the achievement of revenue targets.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drive achievement of primary and secondary sales targets (volume, value, and distribution)to ensure consistent growth in market share across all product categories.
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual sales plans aligned with company objectives. Monitor daily sales performance and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Appoint, manage, and evaluate distributors to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure adequate product availability across wholesale, retail, and modern trade channels. Optimize route planning to improve market coverage and reduce delivery gaps. Identify and penetrate new outlets to increase numeric and weighted distribution. Build strong relationships with key wholesalers, distributors, and modern trade accounts. Negotiate trade terms within approved company guidelines.
  • Resolve escalated trade disputes and ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Ensure consistent customer engagement and service excellence. Monitor stock levels at distributor and retail levels to prevent stock-outs or expiries. Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) to reduce product wastage, manage returns, damages, and expired stock in line with company policy.
  • Ensure timely payment collections and minimize overdue accounts. Track competitor activities including pricing, new product launches, and promotions. Provide regular feedback on market trends and consumer behavior to the management.
  • Identify growth opportunities in emerging categories or under-served areas.
  • Prepare detailed daily, weekly and monthly sales performance and reports. Analyze SKU profitability, performance, distribution gaps, and territory productivity. Perform any other duties assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • At least a Diploma/Degree in Sales and Marketing or a related field from a reputable institution.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role handling, i.e, washing powder, rice or spaghetti is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoke and written English, with the highest standards of professionalism is required.
  • Proficiency in customer relationship management.
  • Must be a fast learner, highly self-motivated, capable of producing high-impact work without supervision, adaptable, and self-confident.
  • Creativity to solve problems and develop ideas to improve work flow and efficiency. Ability to effectively communicate complex information and adapt it to specific customers. Strong relationship-building skills with a high degree of responsiveness, reliability, and integrity
