Responsibilities or duties

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

  • Ensuring compliance with rules and regulations on works, repair and maintenance;
  • Maintain the Institute’s buildings and structures to facilitate smooth operations;
  • Maintaining maintenance records;
  • Undertaking routine inspection of equipment and facilities;
  • Undertaking responses to emergencies relating to use of tools, equipment and facilities; and
  • Undertaking simple repairs and maintenance work

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:

  • Certificate in Government Trade Test Grade III in the relevant trade area (Carpentry, Masonry, Welding, Painting and Plumbing); and
  • Certificate in computer application skills

Experience needed

The successful candidate will be on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.
