Minimum Qualification and Experience
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- Cumulative service period of six (6) years’ relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at grade 11.
- Master’s Degree in Education, Counselling, Psychology, Management, Social Sciences, or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited University;
- Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized and accredited institution will be an added advantage;
- Registered with a relevant professional body (where applicable);
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
- Implementing university policies, procedures, standards and regulations;
- Planning and preparing students’ welfare activities;
- Supervising students’ publication;
- Participating in students’ disciplinary hearings;
- Assisting in clearing students leaving the county to other countries in conjunction with the Ministry of Education;
- Ensuring safe custody students body equipment and maintaining their records;
- Assisting in coordinating student extra curricula activities;
- Participating in quality management and performance contracting processes;
- Coordinating student discipline within the university precincts;
- Administering Students’ Organization elections;
- Ensuring smooth transition of students’ leadership;
- Planning the Induction of Student Governing Council (SGC);
- Managing operations of clubs and professional associations;
- Coordinating student outreach engagements;
- Clearing internal and external students’ correspondence;
- Coordinating entertainment in conjunction with the students’ organization;
- Facilitating procurement and maintenance of students’ organization equipment;
