Background
The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) was established by the Government of Kenya on the 14th of January 2013 under an Act of Parliament-Act No.4 of 2013, to provide research based curricula and curriculum support materials responsive to the needs of the society.
Job specifications
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
- Coordinating the preparation of cost estimates for proposed electronic/electrical programs in the Institute;
- Ensuring that documents are prepared in accordance with proposed specifications/requirements;
- Undertaking preventive and corrective measures in the maintenance of the Institute’s technical equipment and systems;
- Making recommendations on the purchase and installation of technical equipment and systems;
- Carrying out technical evaluation of proposed technical projects and equipment;
- Ensuring proper storage of technical hardware and related software; and
- Supervising the implementation of technical projects, commissioning and final acceptance of completed projects.
Job specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- At least 10 years’ relevant experience and 4 years in a management role;
- Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Registered by Engineers Registration Board of Kenya or relevant professional body;
- Computer literacy;
- Demonstrated managerial, administrative, and professional competence in work performance and results; and
- Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of Constitution.
