Job specifications
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
Coordinating the preparation of cost estimates for proposed electronic/electrical programs in the Institute;
Ensuring that documents are prepared in accordance with proposed specifications/requirements;
Undertaking preventive and corrective measures in the maintenance of the
Institute’s technical equipment and systems;
Making recommendations on the purchase and installation of technical equipment and systems;
Carrying out technical evaluation of proposed technical projects and equipment;
Ensuring proper storage of technical hardware and related software; and
Supervising the implementation of technical projects, commissioning and final acceptance of completed projects.
Job specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
At least 10 years’ relevant experience and 4 years in a management role;
Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
Registered by Engineers Registration Board of Kenya or relevant professional body;
Computer literacy;
Demonstrated managerial, administrative, and professional competence in work performance and results; and
Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of Constitution.
