Job Summary
The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening departmental leadership, refining operational systems, and fostering a high-performance team culture, while ensuring seamless lodge operations in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and oversee all operational departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, and Guides.
- Deliver a consistently high-quality guest experience through personal hosting and service oversight.
- Mentor and guide departmental Heads, ensuring accountability, communication, and professional standards are maintained.
- Assist the General Manager in streamlining operational logistics, procurement, stock control, and cost management.
- Oversee daily lodge operations and staff discipline in the absence of the General Manager.
- Implement and improve internal systems for communication, reporting, and performance tracking.
- Drive staff training, coaching, and team development initiatives.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and results-driven culture across a 70-person team.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on operational planning, budgeting, and reporting.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years’ progressive experience in hospitality or lodge management.
- Strong background in guest relations and operations management.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams of 20+ staff.
- Solid understanding of lodge logistics, stock control, and operational systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English and Swahili; additional languages are an advantage.
- Experience working in safari lodges or remote hospitality environments is highly preferred.
- Kenyan nationality preferred.
