Birdview Microinsurance Limited seeks a proactive and results-driven Assistant Manager, Business Development to support business growth, strategic partnerships, customer acquisition, and revenue generation initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities or duties
- Contribute to the design and rollout of sales strategies that support the organisation’s broader growth ambitions.
- Spot and pursue broker business opportunities, structuring deals that grow market share while meeting the company’s quality standards.
- Nurture long-term relationships with partners and clients, continuously surfacing potential for expanded services and revenue streams.
- Achieve sales targets by strengthening intermediary partnerships, recruiting new intermediary partners, and actively driving upselling within current accounts.
- Prepare tailored, competitive quotations across all product lines and ensure timely delivery to intermediaries and prospects customers.
- Conduct regular product training sessions for intermediaries, reinforcing expertise and ensuring clients receive accurate, professional guidance.
- Scan the market for emerging trends, competitor movements, and shifts in the regulatory landscape, translating insights into actionable strategic recommendations.
- Lead the full client acquisition cycle, from initial pitch and negotiation through to onboarding and smooth handover to account management.
- Cultivate productive partnerships with intermediaries and strategic allies, co-developing opportunities that benefit all parties.
- Track team and individual performance against agreed targets, delivering clear, data-driven reports to senior leadership.
- Guide, motivate, and develop the BD team through hands-on coaching, structured feedback, and personalised growth plans.
- Champion compliance across all business activities, ensuring data privacy, regulatory adherence, and prompt resolution of any audit findings.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Degree in Insurance, Marketing, or a related business field
- Insurance diploma (ACII or AIIK); active membership of CII
Experience needed
- 4+ years in the insurance sector
- Solid grasp of insurance products, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrated success leading strategic growth initiatives or IIK
