Job Description
Our client, a sales and marketing agency in the alcoholic beverages sector, is seeking an assistant sales manager for Kisumu, Eldoret, Kisii and Narok counties to manage sales, marketing, and distribution of all their products effectively and efficiently within the assigned region. The role ensures achievement of profitable sales volumes, development of a strong route-to-market network, and provision of excellent customer service to drive sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee regional sales operations and supervise Trade Developers.
- Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules to visit outlets.
- Build and maintain strong business relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business.
- Support the brand marketing process by identifying opportunities in listing, activations, merchandising, and consumer engagement.
- Execute trade marketing strategy across assigned brands in consultation with the Sales and Marketing Managers.
- Strengthen partnerships with resellers, traders, and retailers to secure trade support and loyalty.
- Monitor competition by gathering information on pricing, promotions, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
- Report competitive activity, pricing trends, and potential opportunities for management.
- Prepare and submit daily visit reports, weekly work plans, monthly performance updates, and annual territory analyses.
- Ensure adherence to company business standards and ethical management of all financial activities.
Requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field.
- At least 3–5 years’ experience in FMCG/Alcoholic beverage sales with supervisory responsibility.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Proven ability to meet targets and grow market share.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of sales reporting.
- Negotiation, problem-solving, and customer relationship management expertise.
