Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning & Data Collection, Management, and Analysis:

  • Lead PUFF’s monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities, coordinating both internal data collection/analysis and the work of the Independent Verification Agent (IVA).
  • Review IVA deliverables for quality, consistency, and actionable insights; flag key issues and synthesize findings for the team and donors.
  • Track progress against PUFF’s logframe/indicators and contribute to strategy on data-driven improvements. Lead all data collection, management, and analysis for CLASP-collected data; lead oversight and analysis management for any IVA-led data collection.

Donor Reporting:

  • Lead donor reporting processes for PUFF, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with CLASP and donor requirements.

Program Implementation: Conduct a variety of tasks in support of program implementation, including research, analysis, report and memo writing, and delivering presentations:

  • Maintain program trackers (Airtable, reporting tools) and ensure accurate documentation of company and program records.
  • Provide program management support by drafting terms of reference and request for proposal for technical studies, participate in the review and assessment of proposals, track and monitor programmatic activities and outcomes to ensure the highest quality work and outputs.
  • Represent PUFF in internal and external meetings as needed, providing concise and clear program updates.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support program decisions, including financial and operational assessments of applicant companies.

Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination:

  • Collaborate closely with PUFF team members in Kenya, DC, and other locations to ensure smooth execution of activities.
  • Engage with participating companies to support onboarding, reporting, and compliance with program requirements.
  • Coordinate with MEL partners, other CLASP teams, and external stakeholders to align activities and avoid duplication.
  • Support organization of webinars, workshops, and other stakeholder consultations (e.g., onboarding sessions, feedback sessions for rejected applicants).

  • Minimum two years of professional experience in energy efficiency, clean energy, economics, public policy or energy is required

  • Experience in rural electrification, productive use technology, renewable energy, and/or related areas.
  • Willing to work in projects related to clean energy access.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, international relations, environmental science, economics, energy studies) required or equivalent professional/academic qualifications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and complete assignments with minimal supervision in a fast-paced workplace.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience with Excel and/or other analytical software and the ability to translate analysis into policy recommendations is highly preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and an ability to take initiative; a drive to learn and grow on the job.
