Responsibilities

  • Plan Audit Engagements: Guide students in developing an audit plan, establishing materiality thresholds, and assessing inherent and control risk.
  • Perform Substantive Testing: Instruct on conducting detailed tests of transactions and balances to verify the accuracy of financial records.
  • Evaluate Internal Controls: Train students to walk through processes to identify control weaknesses that could lead to fraud or error.
  • Gather Forensic Evidence: Teach investigative techniques for detecting and documenting evidence of financial fraud (e.g., asset misappropriation).
  • Draft Audit Opinions: Instruct on the differences between unqualified, qualified, adverse, and disclaimer opinions and the circumstances for each.
  • Manage Investigative Interviews: Provide guidance on how to conduct effective, ethical interviews with personnel during an investigative audit.
