JOB DETAILS:

Job Summary

The Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in the assigned teaching subjects, fostering academic excellence, and promoting the holistic development of learners. The successful candidate will prepare and deliver lessons aligned with the Kenya secondary school curriculum, assess learner progress, maintain a positive learning environment, and actively participate in school programmes and co-curricular activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver effective lessons in the assigned subject(s).
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, records of work, and other professional documents.
• Assess learners through continuous assessment tests, assignments, projects, and examinations.
• Maintain accurate academic records and prepare learner progress reports.
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and learner-centred classroom environment.
• Promote discipline and uphold the school's rules, policies, and code of conduct.
• Integrate ICT and innovative teaching methodologies where appropriate.
• Identify learners requiring academic support and provide appropriate interventions.
• Participate in departmental meetings, academic planning, and curriculum implementation.
• Supervise learners during school activities, examinations, and other assigned duties.
• Guide and mentor learners on academic, social, and personal development.
• Participate actively in co-curricular activities, clubs, sports, and school events.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding learner progress when required.
• Safeguard the welfare, safety, and well-being of all learners.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the school administration.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Education with specialization in the relevant teaching subject(s).
• TSC Registration or eligibility for registration.
• Strong knowledge of the Kenya secondary school curriculum.
• Proficiency in ICT integration for teaching and learning is an added advantage.

Experience

• Previous teaching experience in a secondary school is an added advantage.
• Experience preparing candidates for national examinations will be an added advantage.
