Biology / Chemistry Teacher (Cambridge Curriculum)

Job Summary:

The Biology / Chemistry Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and effective science instruction in accordance with the Cambridge International Curriculum. The role promotes scientific inquiry, practical laboratory skills, and analytical thinking while preparing students for Cambridge examinations and lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver Biology and Chemistry lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum.
• Prepare practical laboratory sessions while ensuring adherence to laboratory safety procedures.
• Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessment tools.
• Assess student learning through assignments, practical work, tests, and examinations.
• Prepare students for Cambridge Checkpoint, IGCSE, AS, or A Level examinations, where applicable.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, and inventory in collaboration with laboratory staff.
• Foster scientific curiosity, experimentation, and evidence-based reasoning.
• Differentiate instruction to support students with varying learning needs.
• Monitor and report student progress to parents and school leadership.
• Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and school improvement initiatives.
• Supervise science-related clubs, competitions, or extracurricular activities.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards, safeguarding requirements, and school policies.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Education, or a related scientific field.
• Teaching qualification (PGDE, B.Ed., or equivalent).
• Experience teaching the Cambridge International Curriculum is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Biology and Chemistry content.
• Experience conducting laboratory practicals and managing science laboratories.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to student-centered learning and continuous professional development.
