Biomedical Engineer

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring the availability, safety, functionality, maintenance, and effective use of medical equipment and biomedical systems within the medical center.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, and maintain medical equipment.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults.
• Maintain accurate equipment maintenance records.
• Coordinate equipment servicing and repairs.
• Support procurement and evaluation of medical equipment.
• Verify equipment specifications and functionality.
• Train healthcare staff on safe and appropriate equipment use where required.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend replacements or upgrades.
• Ensure equipment maintenance complies with applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain an updated inventory of biomedical equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or an equivalent recognized qualification.
• Relevant professional registration where applicable.
• Practical knowledge of medical equipment maintenance.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Good documentation and communication skills.
