Job Description
The Branch Manager will oversee the overall performance and operations of the Kiambu Branch. This includes growing and monitoring the branch’s liability and asset portfolio, maintaining compliance with enterprise risk management frameworks, and ensuring optimal resource utilization. The role requires a leader capable of fostering strong business relationships, delivering excellent customer experiences, and developing the branch team to meet business goals.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong business acumen, financial expertise, leadership, and a deep understanding of banking operations and risk management practices.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Achieve profitability targets through revenue growth and cost management.
- Drive the growth of asset and liability portfolios to meet business objectives.
- Expand the customer base while ensuring retention and satisfaction through high service standards.
- Oversee all branch operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to policies.
- Maintain compliance with the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework.
- Motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
- Provide strategic direction to enhance branch performance and service delivery.
- Foster strong customer and stakeholder relationships.
- Monitor credit risk and ensure adherence to credit policies and procedures.
- Prepare performance and management reports as required.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in General Banking, with at least 6 years as a Branch Manager in a banking setup.
- Proven experience in Sales, Personal/Business/Retail Banking, and Credit Analysis and Administration.
- Strong knowledge of Cash Management, Clearing, Accounts, and Bank Administration.
- Consistent high performance in previous roles over the last three years.
- In-depth understanding of Retail Banking products and services.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong leadership and team development abilities.
- Analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of risk and credit management policies and procedures.
